22 Years Behind
the Workbench
Roman began his jewellery career in 2003, setting up a small atelier in Bath with nothing more than a set of tools, a passion for precious stones, and a belief that fine jewellery didn't have to cost a fortune.
Over two decades, he hand-set thousands of stones — sapphires, emeralds, rubies, diamonds — adjusting each setting by hand, inspecting each piece before it left the atelier.
"I never made jewellery to sell. I made it because I couldn't imagine doing anything else."
This year, Roman was diagnosed with arthritis. The diagnosis that every craftsman fears. The hands that shaped thousands of pieces can no longer hold the tools.
